Busbar Fabricator – Power Distribution & Switchgear Engineering

Key Responsibilities – Busbar Fabrication & Assembly
- Measure, cut, bend, punch and assemble busbars for low- and medium-voltage switchgear.
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematics and work instructions to produce accurate, high-quality assemblies.
- Operate fabrication machinery (cutters, punches, benders) and hand tools, ensuring safe and efficient working practices.
- Form busbars to precise dimensions, tolerances and technical specifications.
- Install insulation, fixings and supports to meet all electrical and mechanical safety standards.
- Collaborate closely with design engineers, panel builders and quality teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Support quality checks, compliance activities and assist with inspection, testing and commissioning where required.
- Maintain excellent health & safety and environmental practices throughout all work.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience in busbar fabrication, panel building or similar industrial electrical assembly.
- Confident reading and interpreting technical drawings and layout diagrams.
- Skilled in workshop tools and machinery: cutting, punching, bending, drilling, tapping and general assembly.
- Understanding of electrical safety, insulation methods and busbar system requirements.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing safe, reliable and high-quality work.
- Good communicator and team player, able to collaborate effectively and follow structured processes.
Desirable Skills – Switchgear & Electrical Fabrication
- Apprenticeship or recognised qualification in electrical engineering, fabrication or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of current industry standards for switchgear, busbar systems and power distribution panels.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement or Lean manufacturing initiatives.
