I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Founded in 1889, Forest Green Rovers is a football club with a rich history of over 135 years– but we're at the forefront of something entirely new here. FIFA described us as the greenest football club in the world – it's undoubtedly true that no other football club in the world has put the environment at the heart of what it does.
We aim to be in the Championship within the next five years – and we're planning to build a stadium to match those ambitions. Designed by world-renowned architect Zaha Hadid, 'Eco Park' will be the only stadium made entirely of wood.
Forest Green Rovers FC promote inclusion and confront and eliminate discrimination whether by reason of age, gender, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, marital status or civil partnership, nationality, ethnicity (race), religion or belief, ability or disability, pregnancy and maternity and encourage equal opportunities.
We welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons.
