U18 Lead Pathway Coach (Women)
To lead, coach and support the development of the U18 Women's team, fostering a positive, inclusive and high-performance learning environment. The successful candidate will lead the planning and delivery of the U18 programme, ensuring all coaching aligns with the Club's Playing Philosophy and long-term player development plan. Working closely with the Head of Youth and the multidisciplinary team, the role will support players to maximise their potential and prepare them for progression into the First Team or appropriate future pathways.
Essential Requirements
The U18s Lead Pathway Coach (Women) must:
- Have their UEFA B Licence (or currently working towards).
- Have their FA Introduction to First Aid in Football certificate (valid and in date).
- Have their FA Safeguarding Certificate (valid and in date).
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with players, parents/carers, colleagues, and key stakeholders.
- Demonstrate understanding of player-centred coaching and long-term player development.
- Have experience delivering individual player development programmes.
- Have experience coaching within female football programmes and/or elite football environments.
- Have experience identifying and recruiting players within the women's football pathway.
- Show an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, whilst also working independently when required.
- Demonstrate excellent organisational skills, with strong attention to detail and consistently high professional standards.
- Have the ability to appropriately challenge, support and motivate young players.

The U18s Lead Pathway Coach (Women) will ideally:
- Have their UEFA A Licence (or currently working towards).
- Demonstrate experience working with elite youth female footballers.
- Have previous experience within an FA Regional Talent Club (RTC), Professional Game Academy (PGA), Women's Super League Academy, or similar environment.
- Have experience using HUDL (or similar video analysis software) to support player development.
- Have the ability to make effective decisions under pressure.
- Demonstrate resilience, accountability, and ownership in challenging situations.
Responsibilities
- Plan, lead, deliver and review all U18 training sessions and matchdays alongside the U18 multidisciplinary team.
- Ensure all coaching sessions are aligned to the Club's Playing Philosophy and contribute towards weekly, monthly, and seasonal objectives.
- Create and maintain a high-quality, player-centred learning environment that supports the holistic development of players on and off the pitch.
- Develop, implement, and regularly review Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for all U18 players.
- Work closely with the FFCW Head of Youth to ensure alignment across the Women's pathway and support player progression towards the First Team.
- Regularly monitor, report, and communicate player progress, development, and potential pathway movement, including transition and exit routes, to the Head of Youth.
- Lead the organisation and coordination of U18 matchdays, ensuring effective communication with opposition clubs, league officials, and internal staff.
- Maintain effective communication with players, parents/carers, and Academy staff to support player development and wellbeing.
- Report and record all safeguarding, welfare, and player wellbeing concerns promptly via CPOMS, ensuring all incidents are managed in line with the Club's safeguarding policies, procedures, and reporting standards.
- Attend all staff, player, and departmental meetings as directed by the FFCW Head of Youth.
- Complete all planning, reporting, and administrative tasks within agreed timeframes and maintain accurate player records.
- Engage in Continued Professional Development (CPD) opportunities to maintain and enhance coaching practice and industry standards.
- Undertake any other duties reasonably requested by the FFCW Head of Youth.
