Contract Opportunity: Test Lead (UAT & Cloud Migration)
Company: Scale Factory
Location: Remote / Client Site (UK)
Contract Length: Initial 6 Months
Scale Factory is currently looking for a high-calibre Test Lead to join us on a contract basis for a mission-critical On-Premises to Azure Cloud migration programme for one of our key logistics clients.
If you are a Quality Assurance champion who excels in leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT), navigating complex application dependencies, and safely guiding business stakeholders through cloud transformation journeys, we want to hear from you.
The Role
As a Test Lead, you won't just be managing a process; you’ll be driving the testing and business readiness strategy across the migration workstream. You will act as the primary liaison between project teams, technical vendors, and business end-users, ensuring that legacy on-premises applications and services are successfully validated and delivered safely into the Azure Cloud production environment.
Technical Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the following:
- UAT Leadership & Business Readiness: Extensive experience planning, coordinating, and executing User Acceptance Testing (UAT). You must excel at supporting non-technical business stakeholders, defining test criteria, and ensuring UAT deliverables meet strict quality standards.
- On-Prem to Azure Cloud Migration: Prior experience de-risking technology migration programmes. A strong understanding of shifting workloads from on-premises infrastructure to MS Azure cloud ecosystems is highly desirable.
- Landscape & Dependency Analysis: Ability to analyse complex system architectures, deployment pathways, upstream/downstream interfaces, and data integrations to map out robust End-to-End (E2E) testing pathways.
- Environment & Governance Mastery: Deep understanding of managing environment schedules, readiness, and utilisation across multiple migration waves. Proven experience establishing and governing strict entry/exit quality gates between staging environments.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
