About The Role
We are seeking an experienced UI Developer to join our CDD (Customer Due Diligence) technology team within Group Economic Crime. This pivotal role involves working within our global feature squads to develop and enhance our new CDD platform while maintaining and migrating functionalities from the existing application stack. As a UI Developer, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and backend engineers, to design, develop, and implement user interfaces that provide a leading UX in KYC (Know Your Customer) processes. Your contributions will directly influence the efficiency of business operations through increased automation and the delivery of innovative, user-friendly solutions.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in React.js development, proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5, and a solid understanding of React Hooks, component lifecycle, and state management techniques such as Redux or Context API. Experience in developing responsive UI, integrating RESTful APIs, and familiarity with Micro Frontend Architecture are essential. Additionally, knowledge of Agile methodologies and version control systems like Git will be crucial for success in this role. The position can be based either in Glasgow or Knutsford, offering flexibility to suitable candidates.

Qualifications
The successful candidate should possess a minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in front-end development, with a focus on React.js. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS, along with a solid understanding of responsive design principles. Experience working with RESTful APIs, micro frontend architecture, and modern development tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines is highly valued. Knowledge of DevOps practices, application performance optimization, and accessibility standards will be advantageous. Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset are essential for this role.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable user interfaces using industry-standard frameworks and tools, primarily React.js.
- Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend developers to define requirements and translate them into functional, user-centric designs.
- Integrate front-end components with backend services via RESTful APIs, ensuring seamless data flow and performance.
- Participate in code reviews, promote best practices, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies, actively sharing knowledge within the team and organization.
- Implement secure coding practices to safeguard sensitive data and mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Develop and execute comprehensive unit tests to ensure code quality, reliability, and maintainability.
- Contribute to the migration of functionalities from legacy systems to the new platform, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum efficiency.
- Engage in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to facilitate effective team collaboration.
- Assist in monitoring application performance and implementing optimizations to enhance user experience.
