About The Role

We are seeking an experienced UI Developer to join our CDD (Customer Due Diligence) technology team within Group Economic Crime. In this vital role, you will be part of our global feature squads dedicated to building and enhancing our new CDD platform, alongside maintaining and migrating existing application functionalities. Your work will directly contribute to creating a market-leading user experience in Know Your Customer (KYC) processes, while also improving operational efficiency through automation. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and backend engineers, to design, develop, and implement innovative UI solutions that meet stringent security and performance standards. This role offers the opportunity to work either from our Glasgow or Knutsford offices, providing flexibility and the chance to be part of a dynamic, forward-thinking team committed to technological excellence and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in front-end development with expertise in React.js, JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, and HTML5. A solid understanding of React Hooks, component lifecycle, and state management tools such as Redux or Context API is essential. Experience in developing responsive, accessible, and cross-browser compatible UI is required. Knowledge of RESTful API integration, Micro Frontend Architecture, and reusable component design will be highly valued. Familiarity with version control systems like Git and Agile development methodologies is crucial. Additional skills that will set candidates apart include experience with DevOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, ELK stack, and App Dynamics, as well as a good understanding of application performance optimization, security best practices, and scalable application architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable front-end applications using industry-standard programming languages and frameworks.
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend engineers to define requirements, devise technical solutions, and ensure seamless integration with backend services.
  • Participate in code reviews, promote best practices, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, actively contributing to the organization’s technology communities and innovation initiatives.
  • Implement secure coding practices to safeguard sensitive data and mitigate vulnerabilities, aligning with security standards and compliance requirements.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive unit testing strategies to ensure code reliability, readability, and performance.
  • Assist in troubleshooting, debugging, and optimizing existing applications to improve user experience and operational efficiency.
