About The Role

We are seeking an experienced UI Developer to join our Customer Due Diligence (CDD) technology team within Group Economic Crime at Barclays. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing our new CDD platform while maintaining and migrating existing applications to the new system. As part of our global feature squads, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement user interfaces that deliver a superior user experience in Know Your Customer (KYC) processes. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing operational efficiency through automation and innovative UI solutions that meet the highest standards of usability and security.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in front-end development with expertise in React.js, JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, and HTML5. Proficiency in React Hooks, component lifecycle management, and state management tools such as Redux or Context API is essential. Experience in developing and consuming RESTful APIs, integrating front-end applications with backend services, and understanding Micro Frontend Architecture is highly valued. Familiarity with version control systems like Git and Agile methodologies will be advantageous. Additional skills that will set you apart include knowledge of DevOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, ELK stack, and App Dynamics, as well as a solid understanding of application performance optimization, accessibility standards, and cross-browser compatibility.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable front-end solutions using industry-standard programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend developers to define requirements, devise technical solutions, and ensure seamless integration aligned with business objectives.
  • Participate in code reviews, promote best practices in coding, and foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing among team members.
  • Stay updated with emerging industry trends and technological advancements, contributing to the organization’s innovation initiatives and technology communities.
  • Implement secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, safeguard sensitive data, and ensure compliance with security standards.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive unit testing to ensure code reliability, readability, and performance optimization.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure UI solutions meet accessibility, usability, and cross-browser compatibility standards.
  • Assist in the migration of legacy applications to modern platforms, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum efficiency.
