About The Role
We are seeking an experienced UI Developer to join our CDD (Customer Due Diligence) technology team within Group Economic Crime at Barclays. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic, innovative environment focused on building and maintaining our new CDD platform, alongside migrating existing functionalities to this modern architecture. As a key member of our global feature squads, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and backend engineers, to develop high-quality, user-centric applications. Your primary focus will be on designing and implementing intuitive, responsive interfaces that enhance the user experience in KYC processes, while also driving automation and operational efficiencies across business workflows.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background with proven experience in front-end development, particularly with React.js. Essential qualifications include proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5, and a solid understanding of React Hooks, component lifecycle, and state management frameworks such as Redux or Context API. Experience in developing and consuming RESTful APIs, integrating front-end applications with backend services, and familiarity with Micro Frontend Architecture is highly desirable. Candidates should have a good grasp of responsive UI design, cross-browser compatibility, and accessibility standards. Familiarity with version control systems like Git and agile development methodologies is required. Additional valued skills include knowledge of DevOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, ELK stack, and App Dynamics, as well as experience working on scalable, high-performance applications.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end development and delivery of high-quality software solutions, ensuring code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance. You will work collaboratively with cross-disciplinary teams to define requirements, design solutions, and ensure seamless integration with existing systems. Participating in code reviews and promoting best practices in code quality and knowledge sharing will be integral to your role. Staying informed about industry trends and emerging technologies, you will contribute to the organization’s technical community, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
You will also be expected to adhere to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities and protect sensitive data. Implementing thorough unit testing and validation procedures will be essential to ensure the reliability and robustness of delivered solutions. As part of your responsibilities, you will support operational excellence by monitoring application performance, optimizing user experience, and ensuring compliance with accessibility and cross-browser standards. Additionally, you will contribute to the ongoing enhancement of our platform by identifying opportunities for automation and process improvement.
