About the Role
We are recruiting a UI Engineer to provide contract-based expertise for one of our leading technology-sector clients. This position centres on building, testing, and maintaining scalable UI components while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver polished, performant solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop cutting-edge UI components using modern frameworks (React/Vue.js etc.), ensuring responsiveness, accessibility (WCAG) and optimised performance.
- Translate design assets (wireframes/mockups) into functional interfaces, maintaining precision in visual fidelity.
- Enforce cross-browser & cross-device compatibility, adhering strictly to the team's design system principles.
- Audit UI performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks in rendering speed and load times.
- Maintain clean, well-documented code while employing scalable development patterns (e.g., progressive enhancement, modular design).

Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Proficiency
✔ Frontend Stack: Fluent in HTML/CSS/JS with a deep focus on modern frameworks (React.js or Vue.js). ✔ Responsive Design: Strong expertise in mobile-first principles and utility-first CSS methodologies (Tailwind) or preprocessors (Sass/LESS). ✔ UI/UX Implementation: Proficient in translating pixel-perfect designs into interactive, intuitive components. ✔ State Management: Familiarity with robust tools (Redux, Context API, Zustand) and mastery of asynchronous patterns (Promises/async-await). ✔ CI/CD Awareness: Experience with Git and version control, plus understanding of deployment pipelines.
