UI/UX Design Intern (Paywall & Monetization Specialist)

Company: LYNA
Location: Remote
Duration: 3 Months
Employment Type: Internship (Unpaid + High Commission)

About Lyna

LYNA is a modern, intuitive cycle-tracking and hormonal health application (https://www.lynacycle.app/) dedicated to empowering individuals with deep insights into their bodies. We bridge the gap between science and daily wellness, delivering a premium user experience. As we scale, we are focusing on optimizing our conversion funnels and monetization strategy to turn our growing user base into loyal subscribers.

The Role

We are looking for a sharp, growth-minded UI/UX Design Intern who is passionate about psychology, user behavior, and mobile app monetization. You won’t just be making things look pretty—you will own the design strategy for our paywalls, onboarding flows, and premium features.

This is a unique hybrid role combining high-level product design with conversion rate optimization (CRO). Since this is a high-commission internship, your earning potential is directly tied to the success of the screens and strategies you build.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the Paywall Strategy: Audit our current monetization model and design high-converting paywalls, dynamic pricing screens, and premium feature previews.
  • Optimize Onboarding: Redesign user onboarding flows to seamlessly introduce Lyna’s value proposition and maximize day-one subscription opt-ins.
  • A/B Testing & Iteration: Collaboratively pitch, wireframe, and prototype different paywall variations (e.g., visual layout, copy tweaks, trial vs. direct purchase) to see what drives the highest conversions.
  • User-Centric Design: Maintain Lyna's clean, modern aesthetic while strategically using visual hierarchy, micro-interactions, and persuasive design principles to drive revenue.
  • Collaborate closely: Work directly with product and development teams to ensure your designs are implemented exactly as envisioned.

What We’re Looking For

  • A portfolio showcasing strong mobile UI/UX design skills (Figma mastery is a must).
  • A deep interest in Growth Design / Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO). You understand why certain paywalls work and how visual cues influence buyer behavior.
  • Self-starters who are motivated by data, user psychology, and financial upside.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate your design decisions.
  • Bonus: Past experience designing for health/wellness apps or subscription-based software.

Compensation & Perks

  • High Commission Structure: While the base internship is unpaid, you will receive a highly competitive percentage/commission on the revenue generated directly from the paywall conversions and strategies you implement. When the app wins, you win big.
  • Real-World Portfolio Impact: You will get concrete metrics (e.g., "Increased subscription conversion by X%") to put on your resume, which is gold for future UI/UX roles.
  • Flexible & Remote: Work from anywhere on a schedule that fits your life.

Mentorship & Ownership

  • Direct impact on a live product with zero corporate red tape.
  • Potential for Full-Time: Exceptional performance during these 3 months can transition into a paid, full-time role.
