An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and qualified finance professional to join a growing international organisation as a UK Financial Controller within this leading pharmaceutical business. This is a broad and hands-on role offering responsibility across financial accounting, taxation, treasury, reporting, audit management, budgeting, and business support activities.

Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial operations while supporting strategic decision-making and maintaining compliance with UK financial and tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare financial statements in accordance with Local GAAP and IFRS.
  • Manage corporate tax, VAT, withholding tax, and other statutory filings.
  • Coordinate and manage external and internal audits.
  • Oversee cash management, payment planning, and bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain robust financial controls and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting activities.
  • Provide financial insights and forecasts to support business planning and commercial decision-making.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for finance-related enquiries.
  • Support payroll accounting processes and related reporting requirements.
  • Help drive continuous improvement across finance processes and systems.

About You

You will be a proactive, detail-oriented finance professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is comfortable taking ownership of a broad finance remit.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant
  • Post-qualification experience in the pharmaceutical, life sciences or healthcare sectors
  • Strong knowledge of UK accounting principles, financial reporting, and taxation
  • Experience preparing management accounts and statutory financial statements
  • Experience of leading a small finance team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exposure to ERP systems and international reporting environments.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • ACA, ACCA or ACMA Qualified accountant with significant experience in pharmaceutical sector
