UK Global Network Banking Coverage Banker

Senior Banker (Support) – Global Network Banking Team

The Role The Senior Banker (Support) is a client-facing professional responsible for managing and growing Citi’s relationships with the local subsidiaries of multinational clients within our Global Network Banking (GNB) team. The primary objective is to:

  • Deepen wallet penetration
  • Drive revenue growth
  • Ensure seamless delivery of Citi’s products and services in the local market
  • Provide coverage support to Senior Bankers in the team

Responsibilities

1. Support Banker

  • Partner with Senior Bankers to provide overall relationship management support
  • Assist in daily operations:
    • Cash management activities
    • Trading initiatives
    • Vendor finance, foreign exchange (FX), and loan activity
    • Debt capital markets efforts
    • Coordination of Treasury & Trade Solutions (TTS) and other products/solutions
  • Support cross-selling by:
    • Identifying customer needs to generate revenue
    • Evaluating public filings, research reports, business plans, and financial forecasts to produce strategic & financial analyses
    • Staying informed on market trends, "best practices," and competitive landscape

2. Client Relationship Management

  • Build and develop trusted advisor relationships with key contacts at local subsidiaries through:
    • Valuable analytical insights
    • High-quality engagement
  • Develop deep client understanding:
    • Business model
    • Strategic finance
    • Financial wallet to identify opportunities
  • Maintain strong, proactive client coverage:
    • High calling intensity and responsiveness
    • Focus on origination & execution of top revenue opportunities

3. In-Country Origination & Coverage

  • Drive local wallet penetration
    • Maximise Citi’s footprint within targeting subsidiaries
  • Provide market-specific solutions aligning with:
    • Local insights
    • Client's global parent strategy
  • Efficient pipeline management
    • Leverage in-country Product Specialists to deliver tailored banking solutions

4. Local Strategy & Credit

  • Align account activities with:
    • Country-wide campaign campaigns
    • Local/global strategic plays (wallet sizing, corridor initiatives)
  • Contribute to local strategy development
  • Ensure strong credit knowledge focused on:
    • Local subsidiaries' credit needs
  • Support Senior Bankers with client escalations

Requirements

Experience & Skills

  • Substantial experience in client relationship management or related financial services roles
  • Local market expertise:
    • Deep understanding of economic trends
    • Regulatory environment knowledge
  • Credit & risk skills:
    • Strong credit assessment & risk evaluation ability
  • Product competency:
    • Expertise in Corporate Banking, Treasuries, Trade Solutions (TTS), and Markets
  • Client-focused approach:
    • Proven ability to nurture relationships
    • Build trust with C-suite and operational decision-makers
  • Communication excellence:
    • Excellent interpersonal & presentation skills

Education

  • Essential:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field
  • Preferred:
    • MBA, CFA, or other advanced professional qualifications

This is a Certified Role under the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) & Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) Certification Regime, effective since 7 March 2016. As part of the Individual Accountability Regime, Citi will assess fit and propriety based on:

  • Competence and capability
