UK Head of Clinical Operations – GLP-1 / Digital Healthcare
Up to £150,000 + Equity & Benefits
Blackburn / Hybrid

Our client is one of Europe’s fastest-growing digital healthcare scale-ups, operating at the forefront of AI-enabled consumer healthcare and telemedicine. Backed by leading healthcare and technology investors, the business has experienced extraordinary growth over the last 12 months and is now supporting over 100,000 patients globally across obesity, metabolic health, and chronic condition pathways.
As part of their continued expansion, they are now seeking an experienced Head of Clinical Operations to help scale and optimise the clinical infrastructure behind a rapidly growing GLP-1 prescribing platform.
The Opportunity
This is a senior leadership appointment sitting at the intersection of clinical governance, operational excellence, workforce planning, and digital healthcare delivery.
Working closely with the Superintendent Pharmacist, Product, Operations, and Executive teams, the successful candidate will play a key role in building scalable, compliant, and patient-centric telemedicine operations.
This position would suit an individual who combines strong clinical credibility with a commercial and operational mindset and is excited by the pace and ambition of a high-growth environment.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Operations & Leadership
- Lead and support a large remote clinical workforce, including prescribing pharmacists and clinicians
- Oversee workforce planning, rota management, and clinical capacity forecasting
- Ensure prescribing workflows operate efficiently while maintaining service levels and clinical quality standards
- Monitor clinician performance, productivity, and prescribing KPIs
- Drive operational consistency and continuous improvement across the clinical function

Clinical Protocol Development
- Design, refine, and operationalise scalable GLP-1 prescribing pathways
- Translate clinical protocols into streamlined digital workflows and patient journeys
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to integrate protocols into the customer experience
- Support the rollout of new treatment categories and therapies
Governance & Training
- Lead onboarding and training initiatives for new clinicians
- Maintain standardised prescribing frameworks and governance processes
- Support audits, inspections, and compliance activities alongside the Superintendent Pharmacist
- Ensure all clinical operations align with regulatory and patient safety standards
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Clinical, Product, CX, and Operational teams
- Help create a seamless, scalable prescribing experience
- Balance patient safety, regulatory compliance, customer experience, and commercial scalability
Candidate Profile
Our client is open to candidates from a range of backgrounds, including:
- Clinical Operations Leadership
- Telemedicine Clinical Leadership
- Online Pharmacy Operations
- Prescribing Operations Management
- Senior Clinical or Superintendent Pharmacist roles
The ideal candidate will have experience within GLP-1/weight management, digital health, online pharmacy and telemedicine environments.
Essential Experience
- GPhC-registered Pharmacist with Independent Prescriber qualification
- Strong understanding of regulated telemedicine prescribing
- Experience within digital healthcare and/or GLP-1 prescribing environments
- Previous leadership experience managing remote clinical teams
- Proven ability to build and operationalise scalable clinical pathways
- Experience working cross-functionally with Product and Engineering teams
- Strong understanding of KPI management, workforce planning, and operational performance

- Superintendent Pharmacist experience
- Exposure to GPhC inspections and governance audits
- Experience within a high-growth startup or scale-up environment
- Commercially focused clinical leadership experience
- Experience launching new treatment pathways or healthcare products

Location
This role is Hybrid with frequent travel to the headquarters in Blackburn.
