The Position
We are looking for an HR Administrator to join our People Team on a fixed-term maternity cover. In this role, you will provide essential operational and administrative support across the UK People function, helping to manage high-volume employee lifecycle processes, HR system updates, recruitment administration, absence administration and employee queries.
You will work closely with the People Team, Payroll, Customer Service, hiring managers and operational stakeholders to ensure employee data, documentation and HR processes are completed accurately and on time. This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to handle confidential employee information in a fast-paced environment.
This is a key support role within the People Team and is well-suited to someone currently living in the UK with the relevant Eligibility to Work permissions, who has previous HR administration experience and is confident working with systems, employee data and time-sensitive HR requests.
Responsibilities
- Support HR administration processes for internal employees across the UK business, ensuring employee records and HR systems are accurate and up to date.
- Manage new starter, employee change and leaver administration, including onboarding documents, status changes, pay-related updates, offboarding requests and exit documentation.
- Support eligibility, right-to-work, TUPE onboarding and internal people documentation processes, ensuring all required checks and records are completed accurately.
- Use BambooHR and other HR systems to input, update, access and compile employee data for the People Team and wider business.
- Liaise with hiring managers, senior stakeholders and internal teams to support job advert requests and recruitment-related administration.
- Support internal staff absence administration, including sickness, bereavement and other absence types, ensuring return-to-work confirmations and payroll-related updates are completed correctly.
- Monitor and respond to queries received via the UK HR inbox, including holiday queries, sickness updates, employee record changes, document requests, system updates and general HR support.
- Provide administrative and clerical support to the wider People Team, including reference letters, eye test vouchers, employee documentation, record updates and urgent HR system actions.
- Escalate complex or sensitive matters to the appropriate People Team member and ensure confidential employee information is handled in line with company policy and data protection requirements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
