About Infinite Lambda
Infinite Lambda is a global data and AI consultancy on a mission to make innovation accessible. We help organisations build the data foundations and business context they need for enterprise AI to actually work: from modern data platforms to agentic enablement and our software solution, Flowline.
We are a Certified B Corporation, present in 11 countries, and proud to nurture a workplace where decent human beings can do their best work. Curiosity is our default setting. Autonomy is non-negotiable. Impact is the point.
The role
As our CFO, you will be the strategic financial partner to our CEO and Exec team. This is not a back-office finance role. You will shape how we grow, where we invest, how we manage risk, and how we turn financial discipline into competitive advantage as we scale from a high-growth consultancy into a global data and AI leader.
You will own the full breadth of strategic finance: from enterprise risk and governance, through capital and cash strategy, to funding, transformation and value creation. You'll work hand-in-hand with the Exec team, our investors and our banking partners, and you'll be a visible leader across the business.
You will inherit a small, capable finance team of two who have built strong foundations for the function. They currently sit under Operations and the COO, however the time has come to separate that and give it a life of its own. Your job is to lead them, grow the team thoughtfully as the business scales, and turn finance into a strategic engine for the company.
Close partnership with our COO will be central to this role. Many of the levers that move our business - workforce strategy, utilisation, operational efficiency, delivery economics - sit at the intersection of finance and operations. We expect the CFO and COO to operate as a tight pair.
What you'll own
This role spans four strategic pillars. You won't do everything alone, you'll lead the function, build the team and partner across leadership but the accountability sits with you.
1. Strategic Governance & Risk
- Enterprise risk oversight across the business, from delivery to commercial to regulatory exposure
- Strategic governance - defining how we make decisions as we scale
- Exec team and audit committee leadership - preparation, reporting and trusted counsel
- Strategic compliance posture across the jurisdictions in which we operate
- Approval and stewardship of the group governance framework
2. Strategic Planning & Insight
- Long-range strategic planning aligned to the Agentic Enterprise Blueprint vision
- Scenario modelling for growth, geographic expansion and market shifts
- Exec team reporting that tells the story of the business with clarity and intellectual honesty
- Strategic insights that sharpen leadership decisions, not just describe them
- Defining the strategic KPIs we run the business on

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who you are
We are not looking for a particular CV. We are looking for a particular kind of finance leader: strategic, commercial, intellectually honest, and genuinely interested in the work our teams do.
Experience that matters
- Senior finance leadership experience in a consulting or professional services environment, ideally within technology, data or AI consultancies
- Experience leading and growing a finance team - you know how to get the most from a small team today and how to scale it sensibly tomorrow
- You've operated across the scale spectrum - you know what an early-stage startup needs, what a scale-up needs, and what an enterprise needs, because you've built finance functions through more than one of those stages
- Proven track record at CFO or deputy-CFO level, or a finance director who is genuinely ready for the step up
- Direct experience with Exec team and audit committee engagement
- Multi-jurisdictional financial operations, ideally across the UK, EU, US and emerging markets
- Funding experience - whether through debt facilities, equity raises, or both
- Comfort with the financial mechanics of a people-led, project-based business: utilisation, bench, revenue recognition, multi-currency
- Sees technology as an enabler of a better finance function.
- Comfortable and confident with finance technology, with a strong appetite for adopting and getting the most out of new tools and systems.
How you work
- You think strategically before you think operationally - and you can do both
- You build trust with Exec teams, investors and bankers because you're straight with them
- You lead teams the way we like to be led: with autonomy, clarity and respect
- You're curious about the business beyond the numbers - about our clients, our technology and our people
- You bring rigour without bureaucracy. Life is too short for red tape
- You're aligned with our company values. This matters to us
