As part of the continued growth of our UK Investment Banking platform, we are seeking an Associate to join the UK Corporate Broking team in London.
Role Overview
The Associate will play a key role in supporting and developing relationships with UK-listed corporate clients, working closely with senior bankers across Corporate Broking, M&A, ECM, Sector Coverage, and Capital Markets teams.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality strategic advice to listed clients, supporting capital markets transactions, monitoring market developments, and contributing to business development initiatives. This role provides significant exposure to senior corporate executives, institutional investors, and capital markets transactions.
This position sits within the wider UK Investment Banking team, offering broad exposure to UK public company advisory, strategic transactions, equity capital markets, and corporate finance activities.
Key Responsibilities
Corporate Client Coverage
- Support day-to-day management of relationships with UK-listed corporate clients.
- Assist in delivering strategic advice to boards and executive management teams on market positioning, shareholder engagement, governance matters, and corporate strategy.
- Prepare briefing materials for client meetings, board presentations, and investor discussions.
- Monitor company developments, market activity, regulatory changes, and sector trends impacting clients.

Strategic Advisory
- Support execution of strategic advisory assignments including:
- Mergers & acquisitions
- Defence situations
- Corporate restructurings
- Strategic reviews
- Public company transactions
- Conduct detailed financial analysis and valuation work.
- Prepare client presentations, pitch materials, and transaction documentation.
Equity Capital Markets & Fundraising
- Work alongside ECM and sector coverage teams on:
- IPOs
- Follow-on offerings
- Placings
- Rights issues
- Convertible securities
- Assist in transaction execution and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Shareholder & Market Intelligence
- Analyse shareholder registers and ownership trends.
- Monitor investor sentiment and market dynamics.
- Prepare shareholder and investor targeting analyses.
- Support management teams in understanding investor perceptions and engagement strategies.
Business Development
- Contribute to new business origination efforts across the UK market.
- Assist senior bankers in identifying opportunities with existing and prospective clients.
- Develop sector knowledge and market insights to support client acquisition and relationship expansion.
Qualifications & Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record.
- 3–6 years of relevant investment banking, corporate broking, equity capital markets, advisory, or corporate finance experience.
- Strong understanding of UK public markets and listed company advisory.
- Experience preparing financial models, valuation analyses, and client presentations.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and strong commercial judgement.

Preferred
- Previous experience within Corporate Broking, ECM, UK Investment Banking, or a leading advisory platform.
- Knowledge of UK Takeover Code, Listing Rules, and public company regulatory environment.
- Experience working with FTSE-listed and AIM-listed companies.
