UK IT Programme Manager

UK IT Programme Manager

About the Role

DP World UK supports Britain’s trading future by delivering world-class port infrastructure, smart logistics solutions, and freeport benefits to its customers.

An exciting UK IT Programme Manager opportunity has opened within our UK Information Technology team. In this senior, business-critical role, you will oversee the end-to-end governance, coordination, and execution of complex, multi-disciplinary IT programmes that support DP World’s terminal operations and strategic objectives.

The IT Programme Manager will drive the successful delivery of interdependent IT initiatives across systems, applications, development, infrastructure, networks, service delivery, operational technology, and cyber security—ensuring alignment with business goals and operational resilience.

The role is responsible for programme direction, risk management, stakeholder engagement, supplier performance, and cross-site delivery across DP World London Gateway and Southampton, requiring travel between both sites for coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Governance & Leadership

  • Provide end-to-end leadership for a portfolio of UK IT programmes, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Set clear programme direction, priorities, and delivery structure, managing interdependencies, risks, issues, and change across multiple workstreams.
  • Oversee the full programme lifecycle: discovery, requirements definition, planning, design, delivery, testing, deployment, and benefits realisation.
  • Maintain robust governance artefacts, including integrated plans, RAID logs (Risks, Actions, Issues, Dependencies), change controls, readiness assessments, and cutover plans.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
