Manufacturing Production Engineer
We are currently looking for a Manufacturing Production Engineer to join our Engineering team in Cirencester on a permanent basis. This would be working Double Days - one week earlies and one week late.
As a Manufacturing Production Engineer, you will be the subject matter expert for all CNC machines, systems, processes, and procedures within the manufacturing area. You will play a critical role in developing people, ensuring operational excellence, and driving continuous improvement across production.
You will work closely with Production Engineers, Process Engineers, and the Maintenance team.
What you'll do
- Conduct CNC programme fault finding, resolution, and optimisation in collaboration with Engineers
- Set, programme, and operate CNC machines, achieving verified competency sign-off
- Ensure machines (CNC, Laser Marker, Robots, etc.) are safe, efficient, and capable of producing required volumes at the correct quality
- Address manufacturing documentation issues including Process Sheets and Inspection Sheets
- Manage non-conformances through Rework, Scrap, and Concession processes
- Analyse manufacturing processes and propose improvements to reduce lead time and cost while improving utilisation and efficiency
- Identify and address production bottlenecks to maintain shop floor flow
- Report equipment failures and propose corrective actions
- Manage tooling and consumables usage to ensure accurate production costing
- Support Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) through consumables and performance reporting
- Train, mentor, and support Manufacturing Machinists and Associates
- Contribute to Continuous Improvement initiatives including Kaizen and 5S
- Challenge unsafe practices and maintain a safe, well-organised working environment

About You
- Strong, hands-on experience with CNC machines including setting, programming, and operation
- Solid understanding of CMM and manual inspection techniques
- Time-served engineering experience post qualification (Degree, HND, T-Level or equivalent)
- A methodical, organised approach with strong time and project management skills
- Good PC literacy, including Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent communication skills with a collaborative and proactive mindset
- A professional, approachable attitude with a strong sense of urgency and ownership
