UK Project Manager

About Aalyria

Aalyria is a leading technology company that supplies laser communications technology and temporospatial software-defined networking platforms to the aerospace industry. With technology acquired from Google, Aalyria is at the forefront of innovation in satellite and airborne mesh networks, as well as cislunar and deep-space communications. We are revolutionizing the orchestration and management of planetary mesh networks using any radio or optical spectrum, any orbit, and any hardware across land, sea, air, and space.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically savvy Project Manager to deliver innovative software projects at the intersection of space systems, network orchestration, and digital ground segment technologies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, from planning and technical coordination to delivery and stakeholder management, within a multidisciplinary environment involving software engineers, system architects, and research partners. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex, cutting-edge projects involving satellite communications, autonomous network management, and European R&D programmes (ESA, Horizon Europe, etc.).

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee complex projects, ensuring alignment with company strategy, goals, and vision.
  • Manage project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in line with business and contractual requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations to ensure on-time, on-quality, and on-budget delivery.
  • Establish and manage project governance structures, including progress reviews, risk registers, and change control processes.
  • Monitor and control project budgets, forecasts, expenditures, and resource utilization for optimal efficiency.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate programme and technical risks; proactively address issues to minimize impact on project outcomes.
  • Act as the primary interface with customers, partners, subcontractors, and funding bodies (e.g., ESA, European Commission), maintaining clear communication and coordination across all stakeholders.
  • Manage subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of work packages and compliance with technical and quality standards.
  • Support the preparation of project documentation, technical deliverables, progress reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to proposal development and bid activities, providing project management inputs for public and commercial tenders.
  • Promote continuous improvement and the adoption of best practices by capturing lessons learned and implementing feedback loops to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Monitor and control budgets, forecasts, and expenditures.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
