About the Role

The UK Regional Trade Controls Lead is responsible for leading the UK Trade & Export Controls function across Frazer-Nash/KBR, ensuring the effective implementation of the UK trade compliance programme and the consistent integration of policies and procedures into business operations in line with company strategy and growth plans. Reporting functionally to KBR’s Director of Trade Compliance, with matrix reporting to the Frazer-Nash Legal Director, the role works closely with the KBR International Trade Controls Office (ITCO) to ensure compliance with company-wide requirements, including sanctions, due-diligence screening, and export authorisations.

    • Maintain detailed oversight of export control regulations across all applicable jurisdictions, including UK, US, EU, and Australia, and proactively communicate regulatory changes to relevant stakeholders.
    • Manage and oversee the submission of export licence applications, classification requests, commodity jurisdiction requests, advisory opinion requests, and UK Private Venture (PV) Grading applications for technologies, software, and products.
    • Liaise directly with UK and international government authorities to clarify regulatory requirements, interpret approvals, and expedite licence applications where required.
    • Oversee the classification of items, technical data, technology, and services, and determine whether proposed transactions are prohibited or require export licences or other government authorisations.
    • Manage export requirements applicable to business travellers, including the controlled transfer of technology and data.
    • Oversee and ensure compliance with all export authorisations applicable to UK programmes, including ITAR and EAR, US Department of Energy, US Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and Australian Export Control Act and its regulatory framework.
    • Prepare and monitor the use of export licence exceptions and exemptions, ensuring fully documented justification.
    • Communicate and enforce the Company’s export compliance record-retention policy.
    • Apply a working knowledge of Australian export compliance regulations (desirable).

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
