UK Sales Director – CGI, Retouching & Visual Content Services

Location: UK / London Working Pattern: Hybrid / Flexible Working Pattern Salary: Up to £150,000 DOE Role Type: Individual Contributor Reports To: Senior Leadership Team


Business Overview

Our client is a well-established global media services business specialising in:

  • Visual content production
  • CGI
  • Image retouching
  • Digital restoration
  • Content transformation services

Founded over 20 years ago, the business originally started as a scanning and digitisation provider before evolving into a scaled creative production partner for major global brands.

Today, the company supports clients across multiple sectors, with CGI and high-volume image retouching as core services. With over 700 employees and continued growth plans, the business is now entering a more commercially focused phase and seeks to strengthen its sales leadership in the UK market.


Role Purpose

The UK Sales Director will drive revenue growth by:

  • Acquiring new clients
  • Expanding existing relationships in CGI, eCommerce, digital retouching, and visual content services

This is a senior individual contributor role requiring:

  • A strong network across brands, agencies, retailers, eCommerce businesses, or visual production teams
  • Consultative sales experience
  • Deep knowledge of visual content production
  • Ability to position CGI and retouching services as scalable solutions for high-volume creative and eCommerce needs

Key objectives include: ✔ Building new commercial partnerships ✔ Converting relationships into long-term revenue opportunities ✔ Leading a UK-focused sales strategy aligned with company objectives


Key Responsibilities

Sales Growth & Strategy

  • Develop and execute a UK sales strategy aligned with revenue growth, market opportunity, and business objectives
  • Identify and secure new clients in CGI, image retouching, eCommerce content production, and visual workflows
  • Leverage an existing client network to create early commercial opportunities (within 90–100 days)
  • Build relationships with senior stakeholders across brands, agencies, retailers, eCommerce teams, and production decision-makers

Client Acquisition & Management

  • Manage the full sales cycle, including:
    • Prospecting & discovery
    • Proposal & negotiation
    • Account closure & expansion
  • Tailor sales conversations and proposals to address specific content, production, scale, and quality requirements
  • Expand existing accounts by identifying additional service opportunities (e.g., CGI, retouching, branding, workflow optimisations)

Market & Relationship Development

  • Conduct market research to track demand, trends, and competitive positioning in:
    • CGI
    • Digital retouching
    • eCommerce production workflows
  • Attend industry events, conferences and networking opportunities to build market presence and identify prospects
  • Work closely with creative, production, and technical teams to align offerings with client needs

Leadership & Reporting

  • Act as a key liaison between clients and internal delivery teams, ensuring expectations are clearly communicated and met
  • Provide senior leadership with regular updates on:
    • Pipeline performance
    • Revenue progression
    • Market feedback
    • Sales performance

Measures of Success

  • New client acquisition across the UK market
  • Revenue generated in CGI, retouching, and visual content services
  • Expansion and retention of existing client relationships
  • Strong pipeline development across brands, agencies, retailers, and eCommerce businesses
  • Effective collaboration with creative, production, and technical teams
  • Timely market feedback to inform future commercial strategies

Key Requirements

Experience & Expertise

  • Minimum 8+ years in a senior sales, business development, or commercial role
  • Strong track record selling into:
    • Brands
    • Retailers
    • Agencies
    • eCommerce teams
    • Visual production stakeholders
  • Highly desirable: Experience in CGI, digital retouching, creative production, eCommerce imagery, or media services
  • Existing industry network with the ability to convert relationships into commercial opportunities

Sales & Business Acumen

  • Strong hunting mentality with a proven ability to acquire new clients and build pipeline
  • Expertise in managing the full sales cycle (lead gen → close → account management)
  • Deep understanding of:
    • Brand visual content strategies
    • Product imagery management
    • Digital asset workflows
    • eCommerce production requirements

Relationship & Communication Skills

  • Excellent relationship management with a focus on long-term client partnerships
  • Comfortable working with creative, production, and technical teams
  • Skilled at presenting to senior stakeholders and communicating complex service offerings
  • Can provide data-driven reporting on pipeline status and market insights

Location & Working Pattern

  • UK-based role with flexible working pattern
  • Requires in-person client meetings and industry events
  • Best suited for candidates with strong UK market access, particularly those connected to London-based clients
