Reporting to the Senior Director, Sales, the UK Sales Manager will lead commercial growth, customer retention, and sales team development across the UK. This role is responsible for driving commercial strategy, expanding market presence, and capturing growth opportunities within environmental monitoring, water quality, and AMP8-related programmes.

This position is part of the Commercial Organization located in the United Kingdom and will be remote. The successful candidate is expected to spend regular time with customers across the UK and periodically visit the Redditch office to support sales leadership activities and team development. Travel time: at least 50%

In this role, a typical day will look like:

  • Lead and develop the UK commercial organisation while driving accountability, coaching, and performance management
  • Develop and execute commercial growth strategies that support double-digit business growth and increased market penetration across the UK.
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with water utilities, engineering consultancies, contractors, and environmental stakeholders.
  • Manage sales forecasting, CRM compliance, pipeline health, funnel reviews, and commercial reporting to ensure consistent business performance.
  • Partner with service, operations, technical support, and marketing teams to successfully deliver strategic customer projects and large-scale monitoring programmes.
  • Lead major commercial negotiations, strategic account planning, and complex business opportunities within the UK water sector.
  • Identify and convert new business opportunities arising from AMP8 investment, Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) monitoring, Section 82 requirements, and broader environmental monitoring initiatives.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Proven experience in B2B technical sales, commercial leadership, or business development roles.
  • Proven experience leading and developing commercial, sales, or account management teams.
  • Experience selling into the UK water industry, environmental monitoring, instrumentation, water quality, utilities, wastewater, or related industrial markets.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing commercial growth strategies and managing sales forecasts, pipelines, and CRM systems.
  • Experience leading complex sales opportunities involving multiple stakeholders, strategic accounts, or enterprise-level customers.
  • Experience operating within a large multinational organisation and navigating matrix business environments.
