Brave New Spirits is seeking an experienced UK Sales Manager to join our vibrant, diverse and international team based in Glasgow.
With a global reach, the company offers a diverse portfolio of Single Malt and Blended Scotch Whiskies for specialist retail, whisky clubs, supermarkets, travel retail, and private-label projects. They've received multiple industry accolades, including 2 x “Icons Of Whisky” awards from Whisky Magazine, and “Spirits Bottler Of The Year” from Spirits Business Magazine.
The company is committed to innovation, inclusivity, quality, and a passion for spirits, as evidenced by their development of Witchburn Distillery in Campbeltown, and their active role in the whisky community.
Purpose of Role
To work closely with company colleagues, and under the guidance of the Head of Sales to develop and manage profitable sales for the Brave New Spirits portfolio within the UK. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing and maintaining successful trading relationships with accounts across multiple channels of the drinks trade, including independent retail, on-trade, route-to-market wholesale and e-commerce.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain effective sales plans to deliver UK targets
- Work consultatively with existing accounts to maximise distribution & sales
- Identify, evaluate and report on new market trends & new business opportunities
- Negotiate & close agreements with key UK retail & on-trade accounts
- Monitor account performance against budget
- Undertake credit control functions, obtain overdue payments
- Identify, attend & develop key trade events (B2B & B2C, hosting tastings & training sessions)
- Maintain up-to-date and comprehensive customer records
- Gather & report to colleagues on trade intelligence & market / competitor data
- Assist and contribute to NPD with Sales, Marketing & Production colleagues
- Manage your own personal development to achieve your career & personal goals
Background profile – the successful applicant should:
- Have a strong understanding of the UK & International drinks trade, with a focus on Whisky
- Possess excellent written & verbal communication, negotiation and relationship-skills
- Be a strategic thinker, with the ability to develop & execute successful sales plans
- Have experience of analysing sales data & market trends to manage sales & budgets
- Be self-motivated, results oriented and with the ability to work independently
- Possess strong presentation & organisational skills
- Have knowledge of relevant regulations & compliance in the drinks industry
- Be proficient in IT, with the ability to learn quickly

Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree / HND /HNC in a business or commercial subject
- At least 3 years experience in field sales, preferably from within the drinks trade
- Full clean driving license
Working Conditions
- This role is based in Glasgow, but will require UK travel & occasional stays away from home
- The successful applicant will be required to attend trade events throughout the UK (and occasionally internationally), which may require occasional weekend / evening working.
