JOIN US as a Senior Buyer based at our Shepshed manufacturing facility, and we can offer you an opportunity to work in a high-tech, specialist company working with some of the best global names in aerospace, medical, semiconductor and clean energy.
The Senior Buyer is responsible for all Winbro sourcing and procurement activity for commodities related to aerospace parts manufacture, special purpose machine tools and associated tooling and equipment. Responding to demand originating principally in Winbro's UK customer facing businesses, the Senior Buyer is responsible for the sourcing of make to print parts and sub-assemblies as well as commercially available electrical and mechanical components. This role involves managing Winbro's existing Taiwan, UK and US supply chains as well as developing new sources in order to create capability for the future. Experience of leading projects in a purchasing environment is essential.

Role and responsibilities:
- Source make to print parts and sub-assemblies including cast, machined and fabricated items
- Source electrical and mechanical commercially available components
- Source in support of R&D and New Product Introduction (NPI) projects
- Order placement in line with Winbro global system demand using ERP Master Planning (MRP)
- Produce supply chain execution plans ensuring that relevant elements are entered and maintained in the ERP system
- Responsible for supplier management including; supplier assessments, supplier performance reviews including production of KPI scorecards, supply chain risk assessment and management, supply chain cost reduction activity
- Develop supply chain capability and category plans in line with the Strategic Sourcing direction
- Own supplier commercial negotiations (pricing, terms, incoterms)
- Contract development and management (NDAs, framework agreements, etc)
- Ensure regulatory compliance with regards to FAIR, FPA, DP and Import/Export
- Strong collaboration with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Planning
- Mentor more junior members of the department

Requirements
The successful candidate will be degree educated, ideally CIPS qualified and have 5+ years working experience in a buying role and used to dealing with complex BOMS in a manufacturing environment. A candidate with experience in the automotive, aerospace or similar industries would be ideal, with a detailed understanding of engineering drawings and specifications. Ability to travel globally, including Asia, Europe and US.
