UK Social Value Delivery Leader – Arup

About Arup

Arup’s purpose, shared values, and collaborative approach has set us apart for 80 years, guiding how we shape a better world. We are an independent firm of designers, planners, engineers, consultants, and technical specialists, offering a broad range of professional services.

Social value has become a critical part of public procurement and client decision-making. Organisations are expected not only to make strong commitments but to deliver them credibly, measure them consistently, and show the difference they make. In this role, you will help ensure our approach is commercially strong, operationally robust, and aligned with evolving UK procurement expectations, including the Social Value Act.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced UK Social Value Delivery Leader to shape and lead our social value approach across the UK. This is a senior leadership role for someone who can turn ambition into delivery—building a clear regional strategy, strengthening work-winning efforts, creating scalable programmes and partnerships, and improving how we measure and evidence impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a small central social value hub and collaborate with a distributed network across the business
  • Partner with senior leaders, bid teams, project teams, and external partners
  • Influence at a senior level to connect social value strategy to client outcomes, community benefit, and business performance
  • Enable diverse projects to meet their social value commitments, ensuring delivery compliance and impact
  • Develop practical frameworks, delivery models, measurement approaches, and reporting processes
  • Drive scalable programmes and partnerships that improve bid quality and demonstrate credible impact

This is a unique opportunity to build a distinctive, high-impact social value capability in the built environment and professional services sector:

  • Improves bid quality
  • Supports consistent delivery
  • Creates a credible evidence base for impact at project, geographic, and UK levels

It is also an opportunity to shape and grow a regional social value capability in a business with significant influence across the sector. Your work will span:

  • Supporting major pursuits and projects
  • Influencing at a senior level
  • Creating an approach that is both commercially effective and socially impactful

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
