Job Purpose
The UKVI Compliance Team Ensures Oxford International Education Group (OIEG) fully complies with UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) regulations to safeguard its Sponsorship Licence. The UKVI Compliance Officer will serve as the primary point of contact for visa process guidance and critical compliance tasks essential for maintaining adherence to UKVI guidelines and the Immigration Rules.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Legal Counsel and Compliance Manager, as well as colleagues across the Group, to maintain full compliance with sponsorship licence obligations.
- Stay updated on UKVI requirements and the Student Route (Points-Based System), engage in training, and develop expertise within the role—while supporting others’ professional development.
- Generate Certificate of Attainment Statements (CAS) for student visa extensions.
- Assist with the Group’s Visa registration and compliance checks, ensuring missing documents are addressed promptly.
- Support the Attendance & Engagement Team in monitoring and tracking UKVI-sponsored students’ attendance and participation.
- Provide basic immigration guidance to prospective and current students.
- Manage emails and telephone inquiries related to UKVI compliance duties.
- Contribute to the development, production, and dissemination of visa-related policies and procedural guidelines.
- Organise and maintain Student Route case files, ensuring compliance documentation is easily accessible for audits.
- Ensure timely reporting of reportable immigration changes (such as student or institutional updates, work placements) to UKVI via the Sponsorship Management System (SMS). Maintain a database of submitted reports and respond to UKVI requests.

Person Specification
Legal Status
- Eligibility to live and work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS Disclosure or overseas equivalent
Qualifications
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience
Experience & Knowledge
- In-depth knowledge of UKVI requirements related to the Student Visa Route.
- Methodical, detail-oriented, and flexible approach to ensure accuracy and adaptability.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficient computing and IT skills.
- Demonstrated decision-making ability with an adaptable, solution-focused mindset.
- Organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Prior experience with registry systems (e.g., SITS, SEAts).
- Experience in UKVI compliance.
- Strong understanding of student visa sponsorship duties.
- Experience using the UKVI Sponsorship Management System (SMS).
- Background working within the Higher Education Sector.
- Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service.
- Position often requires autonomy and minimal supervision.
- (Desirable) Prior administrative experience.
