Sonographer Vacancy at Denmark Hill
Due to increased demand, there is a vacancy for an enthusiastic and highly motivated sonographer at the Denmark Hill site. If you are dynamic and proactive, you would be ideal to join our friendly team.
Qualifications
You must be either HCPC registered or have a relevant professional qualification with a PGDip/MSc in Medical Ultrasound (or equivalent).
About the Role
We enjoy a close working relationship and are fully supported by our radiology consultant colleagues.
Previously shortlisted candidates need not apply.
Responsibilities
The work at Denmark Hill is complex and varied, serving a diverse local population while also functioning as a tertiary referral centre for a range of medical and surgical specialties. A significant proportion of the workload involves complex liver imaging, for which full training will be provided. Sonographers are expected to perform ultrasound examinations independently across the ultrasound department, inpatient wards and intensive care units, including bedside scanning of critically ill patients.
The department supports several one-stop liver clinics and maintains a flexible approach to accommodating urgent same-day referrals. Sonographers are also involved in Contrast Enhanced Ultrasound (CEUS), while MSK sonographers have extended their scope of practice to include ultrasound-guided injections.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
