Competent Ultrasound Technologist (ARDMS)
About the Role
Under the guidance of a radiologist, provider, or department leadership, this role involves performing ultrasound imaging examinations and procedures with precision.
Key responsibilities include:
- Recognizing cross-sectional anatomy and interpreting scans accurately.
- Providing excellent customer service and adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
- Utilizing RIS/PACS and HIS systems for patient exam documentation and results dissemination.
Minimum Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program (if hired after 2002).

Minimum Work Experience
- Prior experience or training in:
- General abdomino ultrasound
- OB/GYN ultrasound
- Pelvic, transvaginal ultrasound
- Breast ultrasound
- Carotid/venous studies
- Small parts imaging
Required Licenses & Certifications
- ARDMS certified (or ARDMS-eligible, with certification required within first year of employment).
- ARDMS Sonography Principles & Instrumentation Exam must be scheduled (or passed before hire).
- BLS Certification through the American Heart Association.
- 30 continued education credits (ECE) required within (every) three-year recertification period.

✔ Proficiency in Microsoft desktop applications (Outlook, Word, Excel). ✔ Ability to rotate for weekend and call coverage when required.
Pay Range
$38.91 – $56.68 per hour
