Undergraduate Industrial Placement (Analytical Scientist)

About the Role

As an Undergraduate Industrial Placement Analytical Scientist, you’ll contribute directly to drug development, formulation, and process scale-up by performing critical analytical tasks. This opportunity offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment, where your work will impact patient care globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct analyses for clinical supplies, formulation development, stability, and process scale-up using HPLC and other advanced analytical techniques
  • Process and interpret test results, collaborating with formulation and device development teams
  • Maintain cGMP documents and troubleshoot instrumentation while resolving aberrant sample results
  • Adhere to policies related to EHS, GMP, GCP, Quality, and Compliance
  • Execute additional duties aligned with the project requirements

Requirements & Qualifications

You’re ideally suited to this role if you have:

  • A-levels (or equivalent) in science subjects
  • A relevant BSc/MSc currently being pursued (fully on-track to complete)
  • Foundation skills in analytical chemistry, with practical experience in HPLC preferred
  • An ability to work autonomously and handle basic analytical/calculational problems
  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration across multidisciplinary teams
  • Effective written and verbal communication for reporting findings
  • Task organisation and planning skills to meet quality/time targets

Note: Prior to industrial placement, you must hold at least two years of university studies toward a degree (minimum progression to second year).
