Job Summary
The Undergraduate Learning Facilitator (Psychiatry) is responsible for supporting and delivering high-quality undergraduate psychiatry education within Portsmouth School of Medicine. Working as part of the Undergraduate Education team, the post holder contributes to a range of educational activities designed to enhance students' clinical learning experiences and support the delivery of the psychiatry curriculum. Key responsibilities include facilitating clinical placements, providing educational support to medical students, teaching and mentoring learners, facilitating reflective practice groups, participating in curriculum development, and contributing to assessment activities such as Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs).
Main Duties, Tasks & Skills Required
- Oversight and coordination of Clinical Placements for undergraduate students in Pairs.
- Support for clinical sites and students on placements.
- Liaison with Admin Lead and Placement Lead.
- Management of absences, sickness, and availability of students, patients, and clinicians.
- Collaborate in the process of designing and running OSCEs.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Fully registered with Relevant Professional body
- 3 years of experience in postgraduate psychiatry
- An active and proven interest in medical education
- Enthusiasm and confidence in teaching and facilitating roles and willingness to develop those skills to a high degree
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Excellent presentation and descriptive skills
- Well-developed IT skills including word processing
- Self-motivation and ability to work in a team
- Excellent organizational skills
