Role Overview
We are seeking a clinician-educator to lead teaching and curriculum design in hepatology for the MBBS programme (Years 1–F Year). This role requires overseeing teaching across clinical and virtual learning (Canvas), academic leadership, and collaboration with teachers at all levels. Key Responsibilities
- Teaching and Curriculum Design
- Design, deliver (or delegate/oversee) clinical hepatology teaching across all MBBS years (1–F Year).
- Ensure coherent and transparent learning outcomes for specialty-specific education.
- Lead clinical teaching content on the Virtual Learning Environment (Canvas), updating annually and approving in-year changes.

Academic and Educational Support
- Serve as a specialty resource for the MBBS team, placement leads, Core Specialty Leads, and clinical education leads regarding hepatology content.
- Develop and maintain clinical learning outcomes, ensuring teaching aligns with MBBS requirements.
- Contribute to and review student feedback and evaluations, recommending improvements and supporting staff.

Assessment and Continuous Improvement
- Assist in summative assessment for the curriculum, both directly and by supporting clinical teaching faculty.
- Maintain and upgrade teaching skills and professional development, including accredited training in medical education and assessment.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
- A consultant or career-grade clinician in hepatology.
- Current knowledge of the MBBS curriculum.
- Demonstrated experience in undergraduate teaching.
- An interest in flexible academic leadership within medical education.
