About the Role
Ecclesiastical Insurance, part of Benefact Group, is seeking an Underwriter to join their Gloucester office. In this role, you will deliver outstanding customer service as part of the underwriting team.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop, negotiate, and profitably underwrite new and existing business, within your authorised limits and aligning with Ecclesiastical’s strategy.
- Plan, prioritise, and manage your workload to meet agreed objectives and service-level agreements (SLAs), ensuring exceptional customer service.
- Utilise appropriate communication methods (telephone, face-to-face) to uphold Ecclesiastical’s right-first-time approach.
- Implement individual audit results and action plans within deadlines to boost personal performance.
- Identify and address complaints in line with company policy.
- Continuously expand your technical and niche knowledge, both through informal sources (networking, industry press) and formal training (in-house, CII, CPD).

What You’ll Need
- Ability to plan, prioritise, and manage work to meet objectives and targets.
- Strong information management skills, ensuring accuracy.
- Proficiency in IT and data skills, including the Microsoft suite.
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
- Commitment to delivering exceptional service, working both independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of relevant regulations and data protection, ensuring confidentiality and good customer outcomes.
What Makes You Stand Out?
- Previous Property Underwriting experience or relevant industry knowledge would be beneficial.
- Cert CII qualification or commitment to achieving it within a set timescale is advantageous.
