💼 The Opportunity

QBE’s Cyber Underwriting is a key strategic priority, with growing success and exciting expansion plans. We’re seeking an experienced Cyber Underwriter with broker-facing expertise to join our Manchester-based team.
This role will focus on:
- New business development
- Portfolio expansion
- Broker-facing underwriting with emphasis on growth potential
🔍 Key Responsibilities
As Underwriter – Cyber, you’ll:
- Risk Underwriting: Apply underwriting principles and personal authority to meet business objectives while adhering to the Business Plan.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, brokers, business partners, and colleagues to enhance influence and achieve goals.
- Market Development: Align relationships with the Business Plan to support underwriting objectives.
- Reinsurance Compliance: Fully understand and apply QBE’s reinsurance strategy to minimize risks and deliver objectives.
- Strategic Contribution: Actively engage in strategy, knowledge-sharing, and best-practices development.
- Brand Advocacy: Promote QBE’s reputation, division, and company objectives to maximise business impact.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full adherence to legal and regulatory standards within underwriting and associated operations.
- Risk & Efficiency: Maintain high underwriting standards, risk minimisation, and operational efficiency.
- Market Awareness: Stay current with market dynamics and cycles to make effective decisions.

🔎 Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
- Proven experience in Cyber Underwriting
- Expertise in profit-drivers and strategic decision-making
- Analytical & datafluency: Proficiency in Excel and underwriting tools, data analysis, and risk modeling
- Leadership & influence: Ability to negotiate, set examples, prioritize seamlessly
- Strong Management, Portfolio Plans, and Stakeholder Relations skills
