Job Description

BMW Group Financial Services UK is looking for an SME Credit Analyst / Underwriter. This role is based at the Summit ONE Campus in Farnborough.

What awaits you?

  • Evaluate financial data making a fully justified and sound decision for SME and consumer proposals within approved mandate authority and agreed Service Level Agreements.
  • Analyse all factors to assess credit, Anti-Money Laundering, and fraud risk in line with CONC guidelines and latest European Anti-Money Laundering directives.
  • Support the Small to Medium Enterprise (SME) Underwriting Team in enhancing Credit, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Fraud competencies through evaluating processes and driving process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant credit and regulatory guidelines, including fraud prevention and anti-money laundering activities.
  • Review and analyse additional information supplied by the Customer to evidence a decision.
  • Collaborate with all underwriting teams and relevant stakeholders (Compliance, Risk, Sales Support, etc.)

What should you bring along?

  • Proven underwriting experience, ideally within commercial applications in the financial services sector.
  • Relevant experience within the leasing, automotive, and/or financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks for lending, including FCA requirements, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Financial Crime and their impact on underwriting processes.
  • Proven analytical skills and confident decision-making capability with sound judgement.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work to deadlines with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Note: The first stage will be a video interview.

Working Pattern

Our working hours involve 3 shifts that rotate on a weekly basis:

  • 08:00-16:15
  • 09:00-17:15

The team also work approx. 16 Saturdays and 9 Sundays a year, all of which they receive a day off in lieu for during the week.
