Underwriting Audit Manager

✨ The Role

We are looking for an experienced Underwriting Audit Manager to lead our underwriting audit function. This role will drive strong governance, robust control frameworks, and regulatory compliance across the business, working closely with senior underwriting and leadership teams.


🔹 What You’ll Be Doing

  • Audit leadership: Lead and deliver the underwriting audit plan, ensuring a robust control environment and timely audit execution.

  • Team leadership: Manage, develop, and oversee the underwriting audit team, ensuring performance, delivery, and continuous improvement.

  • Governance oversight: Embed and monitor governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with regulatory, legal, and internal standards.

  • Stakeholder engagement: Build and manage effective relationships with Underwriting Heads and senior stakeholders across the business.

  • Reporting & insight: Deliver clear audit outputs, track actions, and provide regular reporting to committees and leadership teams.


🔍 What We’re Looking For

  • Leadership experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience managing audit or underwriting teams, with proven capability leading people and delivering through others.

  • Governance expertise: Strong experience managing governance frameworks, controls, and compliance within a regulated environment.

  • Technical knowledge: Solid understanding of underwriting systems and processes, including rulebooks and control structures.

  • Market knowledge: Good understanding of the insurance market, with Lloyd’s market experience beneficial.

  • Audit capability: Proven experience in underwriting audit, compliance, or a technical commercial insurance discipline.

  • Communication skills: Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge at senior levels.

  • Analytical thinking: Ability to assess complex issues, identify risks, and deliver practical, effective solutions.
