Underwriting Auditor – Claims, Underwriting & DQM | Individual Protection

The Opportunity

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Underwriting Auditor to join our Claims, Underwriting, and Data, Qualitative & Monitoring (DQM) team.

This is a crucial role focused on strengthening underwriting quality, ensuring consistency, and delivering better customer outcomes in our Individual Protection business.

You’ll thrive in a collaborative, inclusive environment, partnering with teams to enhance processes, identify insights, and maintain high standards—while we ensure every team member feels valued and empowered.


About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular audits of customer underwriting decisions to evaluate quality, consistency, and risk.
  • Review medical underwriting cases for Individual Protection products, assessing decision accuracy and outcomes.
  • Record audit findings, synthesise insights, and drive continuous improvement via feedback loops.
  • Analyse underwriting data to identify trends, risks, and efficiency opportunities.
  • Present and share reports and recommendations aligned with audit outcomes.
  • Collaborate with internal, reinsurance, and compliance audits, ensuring follow-up actions are addressed.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with underwriting teams and stakeholders to foster transparency.
  • Stay current with underwriting guidelines, tools, and industry best practices.

Ideal Candidate

Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience in protection underwriting or underwriting audit environments.
  • Deep understanding of underwriting principles, decision-making frameworks, and processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with data interpretation and risk trend identification.
  • Exceptional attention to detail—you deliver high-quality, accurate work effortlessly.
  • Confident in communicating findings and influencing stakeholders constructively.
  • Skilled in collaborative teamwork and relationship-building across functions.
  • Proficient with systems/tools used for audit data capture and analysis.
  • Proactive mindset—you focus on continuous improvement and positive customer impact.
