We have an exciting new opportunity for someone from an Underwriting background to join CFC’s operations team, a team that is a cornerstone in driving change and scaling the business in line with our ambitious growth trajectory. We focus on driving efficiencies and best practices throughout the underwriting processes, challenge how the business operates today and work at setting up CFC for additional growth.
The team also manages external vendor relationships, our underwriting support function and much more. We work with numerous teams across the business on a variety of projects and initiatives. No two days are the same!
About the role
This role will work closely with other members of the operations team as well as underwriters, IT and other stakeholders across the business. You will develop and onboard new operational processes and efficiencies and represent underwriters’ interests when working on projects. You will ensure efficiency and best practice is aligned and implemented across the function. A big part of the role will be working as a liaison between underwriting team leaders and IT to ensure the underwriting systems have been set up for maximum efficiency and quality.

- Documenting and creating operational process flows for various teams across the business.
- Generating ideas and strategies for technology, people and process improvements; collaborating with relevant teams along the way.
- Presenting solutions to the Underwriting Operations Specialist Manager and making joint decisions on the best strategies to advance projects to completion.
- Report writing and business case development to go to senior management for proposed strategies, including the use of cost/benefit models and the analysis of underwriting data to identify the benefits and track the value of proposed projects and initiatives.
- Working with underwriters to understand their challenges, generating solutions and working with various teams across the business to enact the solution.
- Working with the compliance and products teams to understand new requirements of underwriters, working with various teams to put new processes in place

About you
We’re looking for driven, self-starters with a strong work ethic. You will have a strong understanding of the insurance industry and end-to-end policy lifecycle, either from experience as an underwriter or broker or experience in insurance operations, focusing on projects and efficiencies.
You have strong time management skills and are able to multi-task and handle numerous projects at once of varying sizes and complexities. You have strong organizational and stakeholder management skills and are able to set and meet deadlines.
