Underwriting Service Support Role
Working hours: This role is available on a part-time, job-share or full-time basis.
Salary: Circa £29,000, depending on experience + excellent package!
Location: You’ll be based in our Fareham office (hybrid working available).

Ideally, you may have some experience in the Insurance Industry or in an Underwriting environment—but don’t worry if you don’t. If you have a passion for developing and maintaining relationships with our customers and the desire to learn and progress, we will provide the necessary support, including recognised qualifications such as CII (Chartered Insurance Institute).

Key Responsibilities
As a member of the Underwriting Service Support team, your role will involve:

Supporting Underwriters, Brokers and Customers throughout the end-to-end process, using a mix of:
- Face-to-face interactions
- Telephone communication
- Written correspondence

Building key relationships both internally and with global customers.
Other responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with process stakeholders.
- Acting as a mentor to junior colleagues, aiding their development and supporting team growth.
- Meeting stipulated deadlines with high-quality execution.
- Assisting the offshore team with training and onboarding.
- Independently managing assigned customer accounts.
- Calculating rates and premiums, while compiling:
- Appropriate declarations
- Coverage forms
- National/local forms
- Optional endorsements to finalise policies.
- Reviewing risk to support underwriting decisions.
- Proactively escalating premium payment issues to relevant teams.
- Generating reports and statistics to provide program overviews.
- Preparing listening materials for underwriting recommendations.
- Ensuring prompt cash collection management.
- Delivering presentations as required to brokers and customers.
- Maintaining and assessing data quality and integrity.
- Identifying areas for improvement and proposing solutions.
