Unit Manager

Catering Manager – Users in Catering (CH&CO) – Full-Time (40h/wk)

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Catering Manager who is passionate about exceptional food and world-class customer service. The ideal candidate will confidently oversee all Compass Group UK&I catering and service operations for CH&CO on a full-time contract of 40 hours per week (44.6 weeks per year).

As Catering Manager, you will ensure our kitchens and service counters run smoothly while helping us deliver truly incredible food experiences.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing delicious food to the highest standards
  • Supervising culinary and catering teams to deliver impeccable food and customer service
  • Overseeing the efficiency of all in-unit catering operations, including:
    • Managing inventories
    • Monitoring budgets
    • Implementing action plans
  • Reporting regularly to your line manager on KPIs and targets
  • Representing Compass Group UK&I and maintaining a positive brand image
  • Identifying opportunities for new food or service concepts to drive sales
  • Liaising between customers and culinary/service teams to exceed expectations
  • Supporting and training teams, leading by example so everyone can excel
  • Implementing and reviewing Health & Safety standards for compliance across teams

Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for a candidate who:

  • Is passionate about great-tasting food and exceptional customer service
  • Has a minimum of two years’ catering experience
  • Has experience managing teams in a similar role
  • Holds:
    • NVQ Level 1 & 2
    • City & Guilds 706/1 and 2
    • A Basic Food Hygiene certificate
  • Demonstrates strong financial acumen
  • Has excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Is ambitious, motivated, and driven to upskill continuously
