Customer Service Consultant

What you’ll do

As a Customer Service Consultant, you’ll provide an outstanding service and:

  • Educate our customers on how to use our digital platforms
  • Give them a choice of how they wish to bank with us
  • Actively raise fraud awareness to protect customers
  • Identify and support individuals in potentially vulnerable situations or those with complex needs, ensuring financial inclusion for all

We’re looking for ambitious, helpful individuals who are passionate about delivering an outstanding customer experience. Previous customer service experience is helpful but not essential. What we value most is someone who can hold meaningful conversations and demonstrates genuine enthusiasm for going above and beyond every day—everything else we’ll train you on!

  • First point of contact for customers: Take ownership of their needs and deliver an exceptional customer experience
  • Educate customers on HSBC digital services and fraud awareness
  • Identify and support vulnerable customers, ensuring they receive the right assistance
  • Assist with complex banking needs to foster trust and confidence in our services

Success Criteria

To excel in this role, you’ll need:

  • Excellent communication skills to engage empathetically with customers and build lasting relationships
  • Proactive ownership of enquiries—taking them through to resolution while exceeding expectations
  • A personalised, friendly, and efficient approach** in every interaction
  • An ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities in a dynamic working environment

Work Preparation & Location

  • Full-time, 35 hours per week (Monday-Friday 09:00-17:00, Saturday 09:00-13:30)
  • UK-based roles only—must be eligible to work long-term in the UK (minimum 14 months, no sponsorship available)
  • Training requirement: Mandatory 9-day training course (3 weeks) during which holidays cannot be taken
    • Coverage includes branch-specific operations, digital platforms, and HSBC services

Additional policy:

  • Occasional branch support within a reasonable distance (expenses reimbursed per HSBC policy)
