Unqualified Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Upper KS2 Lead Role

We’re looking for a dedicated and resilient unqualified class teacher to join our inspiring staff team, where every day brings the opportunity to make a real impact. Working as part of the Upper KS2 team, you will support our eldest pupils to develop self-confidence, resilience, and a love for learning—bringing learning to life and making a lasting difference to young people and their families in the community.
Your Impact
In this role, your leadership, warmth, and expertise will be central to creating an environment where children thrive. Your key responsibilities will include:

Planning and delivering engaging, personalised learning
- Designing and delivering targeted learning activities for individuals and small groups.
- Leading lessons when required to ensure continuity of education.
- Working closely with the teaching team to adapt interventions and strategies to meet diverse needs.

Supporting personal development and behaviour
- Monitoring progress, providing feedback, and contributing to personalised support plans.
- Implementing effective behaviour management strategies to foster engagement, motivation, and positive attitudes.
- Acting as a consistent, supportive role model who builds trust with students.

What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone who combines professional skills with heart, bringing passion, resilience, and experience to every challenge. To thrive in this role, you will:
- Hold HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) status (or equivalent qualifying experience).
- Be confident in leading learning, demonstrating adaptability to individual student needs.
- Exhibit strong behaviour management skills, able to de-escalate challenges with calmness and resilience.
- Build and maintain positive relationships, embodying honesty, empathy, and consistency.
- Show a commitment to inclusivity, safeguarding, and the holistic wellbeing of pupils, ensuring every child feels safe, heard, and supported.
