Unqualified Teacher - SEND Hub

Unqualified Teacher (UNQ1–UQT6) – SEND Hub Leader Support

Location: Dunstall Hill Primary School, Perry Hall Multi-Academy Trust

Salary: £22,601–£35,259 per annum (Unqualified Teacher Pay Scale – UNQ1-UQT6)

Closing Date: 13th July 2024

Start Date: Sept 2024 (or sooner if possible)


About the Role

We are seeking an inspirational Unqualified Teacher to partner with us in leading our **Hub provisions for pupils with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities), where personalised learning and creativity thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the SEND Hub Team, encompassing both on-site and off-site support, to deliver exceptional tailored learning experiences for pupils with complex needs
  • Help create and implement personalised Educational Plans (EPs) and deliver a wide range of both mainstream and specialised interventions
  • Thrive in a busy classroom environment, engaging with children with a wide range of abilities, needs, and backgrounds
  • Utilise your skill set to create a supportive classroom culture and involve parents and carers in the education journey
  • Contribute creatively to staff training and professional development (CPD) initiatives, helping to build a strong learning community
  • Place a priority on the well-being and holistic development of each child, not just academic success

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications & Skills

  • Successful completion of the Government Initial Teacher Training Scheme (e.g., PGCE, School Direct, SCITT, etc.)
  • Whole or part-of completed GCSE in English (Grade C/4-9) and Mathematics (Grade C/4-9) — or an equivalent qualification (e.g., Functional Skills)
  • We look for a hands-on approach to teaching and learning. Experience with young people with SEND, comprehending differing learning needs, would be advantageous.
  • A passion for working with marginalised pupils from culturally diverse backgrounds
  • Emotional intelligence and a commitment to safeguarding children tonevanced organisational skills with a creative flair
  • Ability to compassionately guide pupils in a dynamic environment

Desirable Traits & Additional Standing

  • Prior experience in SEND provision at primary level
  • Experience in the following educational approaches would be advantageous:
    • We follow the National Curriculum with a Personalised Learning model
    • Possess professional knowledge and abilities in Strategies for Emotional Well-being & Autism Support
  • Specific attunement to sensory difficulties, attentional issues, school anxiety, ADD/ADHD, and speech and language development
  • Strong understanding of standardised educational assessments
  • Training or leadership experience within Inclusive Education
