The International Student Award is a scholarship opportunity available to international students who are starting their studies at UNSW in 2023, 2024, or 2025. This award celebrates the impact and contribution of international students at UNSW and provides a 15% contribution towards tuition fees for every year of their program.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be an International Student
- Be a citizen of an eligible country
- Be commencing full-time study as a new student on campus in a UNSW Diploma, UNSW Undergraduate or Postgraduate coursework program (excluding programs offered by AGSM, UNSW Online, UNSW Canberra, UNSW Foundation Programs, Transition Program Online, any program taught in the Hexamester calendar or Study Abroad students)
- Must have applied and received an offer of admission* into a UNSW undergraduate or postgraduate degree program
- Must not be a current student of UNSW (exceptions made for those who have completed an undergraduate program at UNSW and are commencing a postgraduate program)
How to Apply
Each applicant will be assessed based on their UNSW Admissions Application. You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate:
- Academic Merit
- Aptitude and commitment to studies
How will I be notified?
We know that time is of the essence and that you want to make arrangements to come to Sydney. That's why you will receive your scholarship confirmation within two days of receiving your offer via email. If you already have an offer of admission, you can expect to receive your scholarship confirmation within two weeks of uploading your statement.

International Student Award – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)

Q. Can I defer the International Student Award offer to a later intake?
The International Student Award is currently available for students commencing in 2023, 2024 or 2025 and cannot be deferred to later intakes.

How do I accept my offer for the International Student Award?
Simply accept your offer of admission via Accept Online. If you have already accepted your offer of admission, we will assume you wish to accept the International Student Award unless you contact us in writing to decline the award via (link unavailable)

Will the International Student Award reduce the deposit I need to pay to accept my offer of admission?
No. The deposit required to accept your offer of admission remains unchanged and is outlined in your admission offer and in Accept Online.

I am a current UNSW student and have applied for admission to a new program without completing my current program. Can I hold the Award?
No, the International Student Award is available to new students only. Students who have completed an undergraduate program at UNSW and are commencing a postgraduate program will be considered a new student for the purposes of the Award.

I have been awarded another scholarship at UNSW. Can I hold the Award?
Yes, provided that your scholarship does not cover full tuition fees, you can hold the International Student Award with another scholarship. The 15% fee reduction will apply to any remaining tuition fees.

Can I enrol part-time and still hold the Award?
No, in order to remain eligible for the Award, you must maintain full-time enrolment.

If I become a Domestic student (Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or New Zealand Citizen) can I still hold the Award?
No, the Award is for international students only.
