About the Role

We are seeking an Upstream Analyst with 2–4 years of experience in a brokerage, investment firm, or energy‑focused commercial environment. The successful candidate will provide high‑quality market intelligence across the offshore and upstream sectors, tracking commercial activity and turning raw market movements into structured insights that support strategic decision‑making and business development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyse activity across the offshore and upstream markets, including:
    • Deal flow
    • Newbuild programmes
    • Sale & Purchase (S&P) transactions
    • Tendering activity
    • Fleet developments and asset movements
  • Build and maintain a clear view of market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging opportunities.
  • Produce concise, actionable reports and presentations for internal stakeholders, including senior management and commercial teams.
  • Maintain relationships with market participants, brokers, owners, and other data sources to ensure timely and accurate intelligence.
  • Support commercial strategy by identifying potential clients, assets, and opportunities aligned with the company’s growth objectives.
  • Contribute to internal forecasting, modelling, and scenario analysis where required.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across internal systems and reporting tools.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
