Urban Drainage Modeller (Northern Team Roles) — Stantec

The Opportunity

It’s an exciting time for Stantec’s water teams, with our AMP 8 framework appointments and a major growth strategy for 2025 and beyond already in motion. We have multiple opportunities for Urban Drainage Modellers to join our Northern teams in:

  • Leeds
  • Manchester
  • Warrington

Our teams are delivering on a range of cutting-edge frameworks, including:

  • United Utilities Design Development Partnership – Enhancing water & wastewater networks
  • United Utilities Specialist Network Modelling Framework – Developing, verifying and maintaining hydraulic models
  • Yorkshire Waters Storm Overflow Alliance – Designing sustainable solutions to reduce stormwater overflows
  • Northumbrian Water Strategic Technical Partnership – Supporting efficiency, net-zero carbon, and nature-based solutions (a 30-year collaborative relationship)

With multiple existing UK-wide client relationships, we offer a wealth of new and challenging projects. These Bold — Defined — Impact opportunities across multidisciplinary, conception-to-delivery engagements, driving innovation and excellence.

Key highlights of the role:

  • Work across all project phases (planning through to implementation)
  • Improve water quality, manage urban pollution, and contribute towards Stantec’s environmental commitments
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of 175+ personnel, including:
    • Stantec professionals (UK-based and international)
    • Clients and external partners

About You

Technical & Experiential Requirements

  • Degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Proven proficiency in InfoWorks ICM (essential)
  • Urban drainage modelling experience (requisite)
  • Membership of a relevant institution (e.g., ICE, CIWEM)

Behavioural & Soft Skills

  • Exceptional communication: Demonstrated ability to:
    • Write clear, technical reports
    • Craft student-friendly presentations
    • Develop key contacts within the sector
