Store Associate (Part-Time/Fixed-Hour) – Urban Outfitters – Guildford

Location: Unit 200, The Friary Centre, North St, Guildford, GU1 4YT, United Kingdom


About the Role

The primary objective of this role is to support the store management team in cultivating:

  • A creative and inspiring store environment
  • Employee development opportunities
  • Alignment with Urban Outfitters’ VIBE philosophy
  • Implementation of the “Peers Training Peers” initiative

Key Responsibilities

People

Ensure a vibrant, customer-focusedStore experience by:

  • Delivering a positive, engaging customer experience through conversation and service.
  • Prioritising customer interaction over non-sales tasks during peak selling hours.
  • Meeting Urban Outfitters’ mystery shopper standards for store presentation.
  • Contributing to a happy, collaborative, and inclusive team environment through:
    • Respectfulness, helpfulness and positivity.
    • Serving as a positive role model for peers.

Teamwork & Communication

Foster a united and productive team by:

  • Working collaboratively to achieve shared goals.
  • Mentoring and training colleagues in line with the “Peers Training Peers” philosophy.
  • Participating actively in daily departmental meetings with clear, constructive communication.

Operations

Maintain efficient daily operations through:

  • Proficient handling of till tasks, shipments, and fitting room guidelines.
  • Assisting in managing incoming shipments, ensuring stock areas remain clean and organised.
  • Accurately completing weekly tasks, including:
    • Markdowns
    • Re-ticketing
    • Transfers
    • RTVs (Returns, Transfers, Void)
  • Adherence to loss prevention policies and inventory control measures.
  • Strict compliance with health & safety regulations.

Merchandising & Store Presentation

Contribute to a visually appealing and well-stocked store by:

  • Upholding merchandising and cleanliness standards.
  • Ensuring all products are properly ticketed and sales floors are adequately stocked.
  • Supporting sales-driven merchandising projects and trend displays.
  • Enhancing the Urban Outfitters aesthetic through eye-catching displays.

Requirements

  • No absolute requirement for retail experience; willingness to learn is valued.
  • Awareness and affinity for the Urban Outfitters brand and its relevance to the local market.
  • Strong communication and people skills to engage with customers and colleagues.
