Senior Visual Merchandiser Role

Role Summary
The primary objective of this role is to support the store management team in cultivating a store environment that prioritises creativity, employee development, and the VIBE philosophy. The position embodies Urban Outfitters’ "Peers Training Peers" ethos.
What You’ll Be Doing
People
- Recruit motivate, and develop team members while exercising leadership
- Oversee performance development processes:
- Conduct Performance Appraisals
- Develop Individual Development Plans (IDPs)
- Facilitate effective coaching and counseling
- Manage disciplinary actions where required
- Identify and nurture talent for growth and advancement across the organisation
- Uphold Company standards and serve as a positive role model
Leadership & Communication
- Demonstrate strong leadership by inspiring and motivating others
- Hold productive daily meetings to drive goal achievement
- Delegate effectively while fostering a culture of creative decision-making
- Excel in written and verbal communication
Managing the Environment
- Oversee customer service standards by setting clear daily expectations for a positive retail experience
- Maintain strong floor presence through effective ** coaching** on:
- Customer service excellence
- Product knowledge and presentation
- Time management
- Ensure alignment with Company average mystery shop results while upholding service standards

Operations
- Carry out all store-level operational procedures on schedule and in compliance with Company policies
- Drive success in achieving store stock loss targets by promoting loss prevention practices
- Comply with Company Health & Safety regulations to guarantee a secure environment for employees and customers
Merchandising & Display
- Collaborate with Department Managers or Visual Merchandising Leadership on:
- Team training and development
- Shipment and product placement
- Markdown strategies
- Transfers and merchandising execution
- Store standards enforcement
- Translate current fashion trends into creative action plans tailored to the local market
- Maintain and schedule regular floor sets for seamless department presentation
Commercial Awareness
- Maximise departmental sales through analytical, merchandising, and creative execution
- React to market trends by leveraging Company reports strategically
- Stay updated on industry trends and evolving customer profiles via media and local community feedback
- Adhere to stock level management using relevant reports and trend analysis
- Apply entrepreneurial expertise to consistently exceed business targets
What You’ll Need
- Proven management experience in a fast-paced, high-volume fashion retail environment preferred
- Strong operational acumen and ability to navigate challenges efficiently
- A well-understood appreciation of Urban Outfitters’ culture and its market appeal locally
- Skills to drive sales through exceptional service, visual merchandising expertise, and deep business knowledge
