Quality Improvement & Regulatory Compliance Manager – Urgent & Emergency Care (Post-Holder)
The post-holder is a critical member of the improvement team and plays a key role in the governance of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance across urgent and emergency care services.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the provision of quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and governance across urgent and emergency care services, including:
- Emergency Department (ED)
- Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC)
- Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC)
- Associated acute pathways
Support clinical, operational, and quality teams to deliver evidence-based assurance for the implementation and sustainability of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Provide oversight of systems and processes related to:
- Quality governance
- Performance monitoring
- Regulatory compliance
- Service improvement programmes
- External regulatory requirements

Core Accountabilities
- Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulation and compliance
- Urgent and Emergency Care Improvement Programme (UECIP)
- National regulatory standards monitoring
- Quality and safety action plan monitoring and reporting
- Patient safety initiatives and improvement in urgent/emergency care
- Complaints and patient experience processes for U&E care
- Internal and external quality review programmes
Work Expectations
- Exercise initiative and prioritise conflicting demands
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and internal/external stakeholders
- Ensure continuous improvement and excellent patient care outcomes
