Urgent Care Coordinator (Part-Time, 24/7 Rota) – Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin

Following our recent organisational growth, we are pleased to announce a new part-time role to support the delivery of GP Out of Hours and Care Coordination services in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin.

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our Urgent Care team as an Urgent Care Coordinator, working within a 24/7 rota, including weekday overnights and weekends. We are looking for individuals who thrive in a busy, varied environment and want to be part of a high-performing, supportive team.

### About the Role

Location: Telford Headquarters (Office-based: Grosvenor House, Telford)

The Urgent Care Coordinator position is a multi-faceted, 24/7 role requiring:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of operational processes
  • A proactive, can-do attitude

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Acting as a responsive contact point within the Single Point of Access (SPA)
  • Shift coordination for both the SPA and the Out of Hours Urgent Care service
  • Engaging with medical, clinical, and healthcare professionals (including ambulance services and NHS 111)
  • Planning and resource utilisation to ensure efficient service delivery
  • Supporting clinicians in accessing community health teams
  • Supervising operational staff

Important Note: Due to our 365-day-a-year operation, working hours are flexible and will include days, weekends, overnights, and Bank Holidays.

You will work at the heart of our urgent care service, ensuring the best possible care for patients and service users. While our service can be extremely busy, you will thrive in this vibrant, fast-paced environment—no two days are ever the same!

### What We Offer

  • 33 days holiday per annum (inclusive of bank holidays, pro-rata for part-time)
  • Competitive base rate: £13.63/hr, with enhanced rates for evenings & weekends (up to £18.40/hr, depending on shift)
