Urgent Care Coordinator Role Opening – Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin

Following recent organisational growth, we have a part-time role opening in our forward-thinking Urgent Care team based in Telford and Wrekin, supporting GP Out of Hours and Care Coordination Services.
About the Role
We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our Urgent Care team as an Urgent Care Coordinator in a 24/7 rota, including weekday overnights and weekends. Successful candidates must thrive in fast-paced, varied environments and contribute to a high-performing, supportive team.
Based at our Telford Headquarters, this multi-faceted, role requires: ✔️ Excellent communication skills ✔️ In-depth knowledge of operational processes ✔️ A proactive, can-do attitude
Core responsibilities include: • Acting as a responsive contact point in the Single Point of Access (SPA) • Coordinating shifts for SPA and Out of Hours Urgent Care services • Handling escalations (e.g., liaising with ambulance services and NHS 111)
Key working arrangement: Due to the 365-day, 24/7 operations, shifts include days, weekends, overnights, and Bank Holidays. The rota pattern will be shared upon application.
What You’ll Do as an Urgent Care Coordinator
You’ll ensure the best possible care is delivered to service users in a busy, ever-varying environment. Your day-to-day may involve:

Providing a responsive point of contact for: • Medical and clinical professionals • Ambulance service coordination • NHS 111 referrals

Planning and resource allocation, ensuring optimal people and resource utilisation

Key Skills & Experience
- A sound general education (equivalent to GCSEs)
- Previous Urgent Care, customer service, or healthcare logistics experience
- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
- Attention to detail

What We Offer
– Up to 33 leave days per year, including bank holidays (pro-rata for part-time roles) – Hourly pay: • £13.63/hr base rate • + up to £18.40/hr for evenings/weekends (dependent on shift timing) – Company pension scheme – Simply Health cash plan membership – Life assurance – Free staff parking
